Rhodonite Slabs Page 2
Rhodonite is colored pink by the presence of manganese. The contrasting
black lines make for dramatic cabochons and some interesting landscape
patterns. Although rhodonite has a reputation of being hard to polish,
it usually polishes nicely with diamond, or chrome oxide.
NOTE: Rhodonite with Cuprite is a more crystaline form of
rhodonite and therefore tends to have fractures. This material should
be not be cut with coarse wheels and care must be taken not to put
too much stress on the stone when cutting and polishing.
